With proper treatment, you can get better! There are so many resources available to help you, it’s just a matter of finding them and deciding which one is the best one for you. Here are some of the resources available in your area.
If you are feeling like you want to hurt yourself, there are people who can talk to you and help. If you are in the Tallahassee area, you can call the 2-1-1 Big Bend crisis hotline, 24 hours a day by dialing 2-1-1. Anywhere else in the US, call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273 TALK (1-800-273-8255).
Other area emergency care centers:
The Refuge House provide emergency care for victims and their families of domestic violence and sexual assault. They can be reached 24 hours a day at their hotlines by dialing (850) 681-2111 from the Tallahassee area, or toll free from outside of the area (800) 500-1119.
TheKearney Center offers services for individuals experiencing homelessness or economic hardship in the Tallahassee area. They offer emergency overnight shelter as well as a myriad of daytime services such as laundry, showers, telephone and computer usage. They can be reached by calling (850) 792-9000.

The Florida State University College of Medicine has developed and maintain an online listing of mental health and social service providers in Tallahassee and the surrounding areas. This list is searchable by both providers’ specialty and also the insurance that they accept in order to help you find the providers near you whose skills and expertise best fit your needs. 2-1-1 Big Bend functions as a referral service for any social service, health, or mental health needs that you may have. If you’re having trouble finding the right provider for your needs in the Florida State Mental Health Providers directory, you can search the 2-1-1 Big Bend database through thousands of other agencies that may help.
